Raster density and the speck-removal threshold. “High/Max” keeps hairs, streaks and sparkles at the cost of a bigger file and a longer build. Below ~0.1 mm the printer will not resolve it anyway.
The height of a column carries the color, so this setting decides the depth: with “dark” the foreground of the photo stands in front of the background and dark filaments print on top instead of ending up at the plate. “Auto” picks the smaller color error, not the depth.
Every spool is available to the algorithm: it decides how many to use. Uncheck the ones it must not touch for this print.
These generators are free and run on my own machine. If one saved you time, a coffee keeps them online. Either way: your files are ready.
Turns 2D artwork into a multicolor 3D print using the layer swap trick: the picture sits in the bottom layers and the base color covers it from above.
Free and without an account: type the numbers, watch the live preview, download STL and 3MF files that Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer open directly. Looking for a ready-made size? The model library has 651 of them, each with its dimensions already filled in.
Flat artwork with a few solid colors: logos, icons, pixel art, line drawings. Photos are better served by the Lithophane Generator.
The colors are stacked in layers. The 3MF carries them as separate objects with print instructions; on a single-extruder printer you pause at the listed heights and swap the filament.
Up to eight. The generator matches your image to the filaments you have and tells you which details would be lost, so you can decide what to simplify.
The machine that generates the models seems to be down or restarting. Your settings are safe in this tab: nothing is lost. Wait a moment and try again.
