About the Gear Generator

Real involute gears: module, tooth count, pressure angle and helix are yours to set. Spur, helical or herringbone, with bore, keyway, hub and a matching pinion.

Free and without an account: type the numbers, watch the live preview, download STL and 3MF files that Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer open directly. Looking for a ready-made size? The model library has 651 of them, each with its dimensions already filled in.

Questions

Do the gears actually mesh?

Yes. They are true involute gears with the module, tooth count and pressure angle you type, so a pair generated with the same module meshes at the center distance the generator reports.

Spur, helical or herringbone?

Spur gears are simplest and print cleanest. Helical gears run quieter but push sideways. Herringbone gears combine both halves and cancel the side thrust, and still print without supports.

Can I fit a gear to a motor shaft?

Type the bore diameter and pick a keyed, D-shaped or hex bore; add a set screw boss if you want to lock it in place.
